Despite transfer interest from North London giants Arsenal, it appears like Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera will eventually join French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain when his deal runs out this summer window.
According to reports, the Spain international has agreed terms with the Ligue 1 Champions after refusing to elongate his deal at Old Trafford.
Although United had offered the player a new contract, he was unhappy with the pay on offer nor the possibility that he would be shifted to the role of team player henceforth.
Discussing with the media, the midfield ace gave an update on his contract situation towards the end of the month of March.
Herrera told El Peridico it is logical to be connected with other teams when you have just three months left of your contract. The midfielder says he takes it as normal and that we would focus on football while his contract lasts.
He said he has left the rest with his agent both the possible contract renewal with Manchester United and possible negotiations with another club.
Since that time, things have drastically changed although many football fans expected the team to make an effort to keep the Spaniard after they gave Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the permanent role at Old Trafford.
As for the Gunners, they have a little transfer budget this summer window so free agents are extremely tempting more than ever before.
With this development, the north Londoners will have to seek midfield reinforcement elsewhere.
Also, United and arch-rivals Manchester City will allegedly do battle for the priceless signature of Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech in the summer.
The attacker has been in good form for the Eredivise side during the 2018/2019 league season, grabbing 19 goals and assisting 20 in 42 games across all competitions.
Hakim, 26, has helped his Dutch side reach the last-four of the UEFA Champions League, while his side are also presently top of the Eredivisie log.
As per The Sun, the player is a target for the Sky Blues, but the Red Devils are also interested in signing the Morocco international playmaker, which will likely spark a transfer battle in this summer’s transfer window. The forward is thought to have a £25million buyout clause in a deal which runs out in the summer of 2021.
